Let’s just get this anniversary story going.  What I decided to do for George was hire a chef to come to the studio and cook us a very nice anniversary meal.  I got in touch with a friend who is a chef and she agreed.  I was so excited about this.  I even kept the secret from George, which is not an easy thing for me to do.  Our anniversary was on a Thursday.  That Wednesday morning I turned on FaceBook, as usual, and there was an X-ray of my chef’s hip and leg.  She was in an accident the day before.  I contacted her to find out her status and she said she would be slow because she was on crutches but she fully intended to cook that meal for us.  I had my doubts but was so excited about my grocery surprise.  Thursday she contacted me.  She was in a lot of pain and would have to cancel.  Well, bummer.  Now what?  At least I was able to tell George the wonderful plan I had.  We had Chinese take out for dinner and watched a movie.  Please don’t feel sad for us because the next night, Friday night, we went to Paradise for dinner.  I had posted on FaceBook for friends to join us for our little celebration.  When we arrived one of my sweet Nereid sisters, Chrissy and her husband, Mike, were waiting for us.  We had a delightful dinner together.  Chrissy and Mike then left and I was surprised that one of our very best friends in the world showed up with her mother and great niece.  Suzie is more family than friend.  She has been with us through every major (and minor) event since we moved to Pensacola.  We visited and had a wonderful time.  Then my friend, Angela, and her husband Keith arrived.  Angela, like Suzie, is more family than friend.  In fact, Keith likes to say that Angela wouldn’t have married him if it wasn’t that Suzie and I insisted.  Not only insisted but I performed the wedding ceremony.  After awhile I looked up and another friend, Lisa, appeared.  I hadn’t seen Lisa is many years and we had a lot of catching up to do.  We had so much fun that George said we need to do this every week.  Things always work out for the best and even though I still think the chef idea was a fabulous idea, we had a simply splendid anniversary.
This summer has been very busy at Cajun Stitchery.  Aside from in-town orders, the Etsy handkerchiefs are having a bumper year, especially the lace handkerchiefs.  As you know, I get so tickled at all of the writing these young ladies want on these handkerchiefs.  One lady wanted a lace handkerchief for the groom’s mom and for her mother.  The lace handkerchief has less space for writing than most because the lace takes up the space.  This lady had long sentiments, for a handkerchief, and no matter how I played with the embroidery digitizing, the wording simply was not going to fit in the ¼ hanky area customary for monograms and wording.  I suggest she try another style but she had so much wording that it wouldn’t fit in that ¼ area on any of the handkerchiefs.  Not to mention that she had her heart set on a certain font that just would not stitch out as small as it would need to be.  The end result was letting the wording flow into the rest of the handkerchief and not stay in the ¼ area.  They turned out beautiful and she was very pleased.
I received a call one day from a panicked bride-to-be in Milton.  She needed 2 handkerchiefs: one for mother of the groom and one for mother of the bride.  Problem: she called on a Wednesday and the wedding was the following Saturday.  And, I had other orders ahead of her.  I wasn’t sure I would have time to get this done for her but she was desperate.  Rather than driving to my house, I told her to get on Etsy and go to my shop; then message me that she is the girl I talked to; and she could pick the handkerchief she desired from the Etsy store.  It worked perfectly.  The order was placed, paid, and I made the handkerchiefs.  The only trip required was her fiancé picking up the handkerchiefs.  They were already paid on-line so he didn’t have to bother with anything but the pick up.
We mailed another handkerchief this morning to a lady in California who is getting married next week.  Another goes out Monday to Michigan.
One of the beauties of the wedding handkerchiefs is the stories that go with the orders.  They have either waited too long and are in a hurry to get the hankies, or they want everything just perfect and want to go through every detail.  I think it is so sweet.  I spend much more time on these handkerchiefs than I get paid, but it is kind of nice to think that someone is carrying or gifting something that I made on one of the most special days of their life.  Every bride deserves to have something very beautiful and special.
Since the handkerchiefs are such a hit and because I am a bonafide fabric-holic, I purchased 3 bolts of satin: white, ivory, and black.  The handkerchief section needs to have new and special items.  I’m going to design some satin handkerchiefs and see if the brides like that.
For a week in early August we had onesie week.  It seemed like all orders were for onesies.  In addition to the orders, I had some baby birthdays and showers to tend to myself.  The shower was for a baby boy who is to be named Cruz.  For some reason I got the name Chaz stuck in my head.  I did some really cute monogramming for Chaz.  When I was ready to wrap the gift, thank goodness, I looked at the invitation and saw Cruz.  Well, there is no taking out these stitches.  I ended up monogramming a baby bib and baby cap.  Of course, they never knew what happened.  So, if anyone knows a newborn named Chaz, I have a couple of really cute onesies that I’ll sell cheap.
Then my computer crashed and died.  Thank you Shelley for telling me about Joe Stukey, who now has my computer.  Things I’ve learned from past experiences with computers may have saved the business.
#1.  The only things that I keep on the C drive are my programs; never my files and documents.  Files and documents are kept on an external hard drive, flash drives, and Dropbox.

#2.  Always, always, always make recovery disks and keep them where you can find them.

#3.  Back up everything and do it often.
Our newer computers have Windows 8, the older ones have Windows 7.  I had made recovery disks for Windows 7 but didn’t know how to do it for Windows 8.  The computer guy said that Windows 8 is the first one that will allow you to copy the recovery disks onto a flash drive.  He made a recovery flash drive for George’s computer and I’m still trying to figure it out for mine, but we will get it done.
The other thing that saved the business is that we each have 2 laptops.  Now that my Windows 7 laptop is in the shop, I’m using my Windows 8 laptop.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK

As mentioned last week, I did embroider our tee shirts with the Pledge of Allegiance.  They turned out so good that I took pictures and posted on our Cajun Stitchery Facebook page.  Not long after posting one lady commented and purchased a tee shirt with the embroidery. Another friend has purchased one, too.  However, as the first lady and I were commenting back and forth, another person decided to comment. That comment was not very nice and basically said I was wrong to use the Pledge of Allegiance for monetary gain.  I didn’t feel the post deserved a comment.  Not long after that someone else posted a very lengthy post regarding the controversy of the Pledge of Allegiance.  I deleted both comments.  A little while later, another person commented that she was pleasantly surprised that no one had posted controversial comments.  Nevertheless, that post received over 1,000 hits.  More than I have ever had for a post on Facebook.

We went to a friend’s home for Easter.  Since George and I ALWAYS color Easter eggs and hide them at her house, she asked that we please refrain from doing this.  Instead, one of her guests was bringing her two little boys and would we please hide the eggs for the children.  We were delighted to do so, of course.  Well, not without a little bit of good ole Cajun fun.  We did color the Easter Eggs.  We did hide them for the little boys.  We did tell our friend that there were 22 eggs – 2 dozen shy 2 eggs that broke.  We did actually only have 20 eggs.  Hahahahahaha!!!!  I wonder if she is still searching for those other 2 eggs.

George has been very busy in the garden and caring for the lawn and plants.  The place is looking very nice right now.  One of our front yard plants is a papyrus.  The papyrus decided to take over the yard.  George dug all of the papyrus up but put one in a half whiskey barrel.  The papyrus looks very nice and we feel good because it won’t take over the yard and yet we still have a specimen to admire.  Funny thing is that as the papyrus has recovered from transplanting and winter, the soil is producing a few surprises of its own.  Johnny Jump Ups are jumping up in the pot along with a few other plants from our yard, including a tomato plant.  Our yard is always entertaining.

Even though the handkerchiefs have been a success in our Etsy store, one of the most popular handkerchiefs has been taken off.  It is the scallop edged hanky that has the thick scallop.  It just never looked right to me.  Oh yes, it is beautiful but as the designer there is something wrong with it.  One thing was that on each scallop there was a stitch or two in the middle that looked bad.  My wonderful embroidery tech taught me how to get rid of those stitches.  The issue is now resolved.  The next issue is unevenness of the threads when detached from the hoop.  I’ve been working on that today.  The outcome is that there will be a few more handkerchief designs available in our Etsy store in the near future.

With all of that said about handkerchiefs, we completed an order this week for three white with lavender stitching handkerchiefs that say, “No Ugly Crying.”  Yes, it is for a wedding.  Our customer is in Canada.  They turned out beautiful.

A gentleman called me this week wanting some patches.  “Do you make patches?” he asked.  Yes, we make patches.  It turned out that he is a truck driver who changed companies or opened his own company and needed some patches to put over the embroidered logos on his pants and shirts. His lovely wife came to the studio and showed me his shirt and approved the patch design.  They are done.  Before she left, I asked her how they found me.  She said that they live in Ensley (a small area just north of Pensacola) and they called every embroiderer they could find but no one made patches.  I suspect no one made small order patches.  Apparently embroiderers have a minimum number of patches required before they will take the order.  Luckily for this couple, they found Cajun Stitchery who will accept small order patches.  It is a shame that more embroiderers don’t take small orders.  There is a demand for “In Memory of” type patches.  As in this case, rather than tossing out good clothes, a nice patch can cover the older emblem.  In fact, any design can be made into a patch.  It is only a matter of putting the square, circle, or geometric shape outside the design.

Since I was already working on patches, I designed a patch for a friend of mine who works protecting the sea turtles.  The patch has not been stitched out yet, but she loves the design.

I guess that’s one FaceBook friend down.  I have all of these 4,000+ FaceBook friends and today I’ve been messaging one of them and she me, back and forth.  In response to her last message I suppose I got a bit over zealous in responding and wrote a very long response.  After I sent the message, I noticed she got off of FaceBook.  Why oh why can’t I say anything briefly?

The Mermaid Room is looking better now.  The curtains are not exactly as I imagined they would turn out, but they will do for now.  There are just so many projects and decorating to do in that house.

We embroidered some adorable Halloween flour sack towels this week.  Mermaids were required and I saw this really cute artwork of a witch mermaid riding on a trident in front of the moon.  The digitizing was done and the Happy Halloween was a stock design.  It was all put together and turned out pretty darn cute.

On Friday the federal court called with a message that they don’t need me for jury duty on Monday.  So, it is back to work on Monday for me.

Windows 8 is a piece of cake.  At first we were leery about it because the periodicals said it is so different from Windows 7.  However, you can turn the screen into the Windows 7 screen.  The functions are a bit different.  Everything seems to take an extra step to do, but it really isn’t that difficult.  Of course, the internet is the same.

The plumbing in the green house a/k/a Studio still isn’t working perfectly.  Our handyman was called and after using his 30 foot auger, decided that the septic tank needs to be drained.  Those people are coming on Tuesday.  Oh hurray.  Hope that works.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Thank you Bob for the following:

I hate it when old people poke me at wedding and say "You're next!"   So I have started doing the same thing at funerals.

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.

A lawyer returns to his parked BMW to find the head lights broken and considerable damage. Theres no sign of the offending vehicle but he's relieved to see that there is a note stuck under the windshield wiper. " Sorry. I just backed into your Beemer. The witnesses who saw the accident are nodding and smiling at me because they think I'm leaving my name, address and other particulars. But I'm not."

"If there are any idiots in the room, will they please stand up" said the sarcastic teacher. After a long silence, one freshman rose to his feet. "Now then mister, why do you consider yourself an idiot?" enquired the teacher with sneer. "Well, actually I don't," said the student, "but I hate to see you standing up there all by yourself."

Fred and his wife Edna went to the state fair every year. Every year Fred would say, "Edna, Id like to ride in that there airplane." And every year Edna would say, "I know Fred, but that airplane ride costs ten dollars, and ten dollars is ten dollars." One year Fred and Edna went to the fair and Fred said, "Edna, Im 71 years old. If I dont ride that airplane this year I may never get another chance." Edna replied, "Fred that there airplane ride costs ten dollars, and ten dollars is ten dollars." The pilot overheard them and said, "Folks, Ill make you a deal. I'll take you both up for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and not say one word, I won't charge you, but if you say one word it's ten dollars." Fred and Edna agreed and up they go. The pilot does all kinds of twists and turns, rolls and dives, but not a word is heard. He does all his tricks over again, but still not a word. They land and the pilot turns to Fred, "By golly, I did everything could think of to get you to yell out, but you didn't." Fred replied, "Well, I was gonna say something when Edna fell out, but ten dollars is ten dollars."

There is not a whole lot to report this week.  Most of the week has been spent getting a customer ready to go to Texas.

A lady on Facebook did contact me to do some embroidery for her wedding.  She wants the groomsmen’s’ names embroidered on the cuffs of sleeves.  She is using the sleeves as gift bags.  How cute is that?  We will also be embroidering handkerchiefs for the girls.  I’ll meet with her on Monday morning.  This should be a fun project.

It turned out a good thing that we didn’t begin working on the bowling shirts.  The lovely bowling ladies changed their minds about the design and colors.  Now I’m waiting on a final decision.

The peas have sprouted in the garden but not a lot of other things sprouted.  We should have at least 30 sugar snap pea plants growing out there.  Yummy.

Today has been such a lovely spring day.  All I want to do it get out in the garden.  Maybe tomorrow will be garden day.  The dogs are enjoying the weather as well and are staying outside more than usual.  The cats, of course, don’t care one way or the other.  They are in their own royal world.

A friend of mine bought a cute little house on the beach with the intent of renting it.  When it is not being rented, she planned to spend some time there.  Before the closing on the house was final she had renters signed up through June.  She may not get to stay there at all, at this rate.  That was a really good investment.

My mama worked until she was 90 years old.  She, of course, had a career as a legal secretary until she retired.  Then she and daddy bought some quadraplexes in New Iberia and she managed that property until she was 90.  She prepared her own tax returns; maintained the property; and was the landlady extraordinaire.  She loved to play games and have activities that made her mind work.  I guess someone told her the mind was the first to go.

I am my mother’s daughter because I have no intention to ever stop working.  Cajun Stitchery is my retirement job.  It certainly isn’t as stressful as my career jobs were.  I sure hope that Cajun Stitchery lasts until I’m 90 or more.  Sitting on a rocking chair, rocking my life away is not a pleasant thought for me.

George’s father will be 90 this year and is still going strong.  We were concerned about him after Mom passed away earlier this year but he seems to be hanging in there and bidding his time.  George talks to him at least three times a week now.

A few days ago I received a delightful surprise phone call.  It was my son, Hank, calling to let me talk to my great granddaughter, Kayla.  I know that everyone heard her say, “Ba, ba ma, ba…”  I heard her say, “Hello, great grandmother, it is such a pleasure to talk with you.”  They thought she was biting and drooling on the phone but I know she was blowing kisses to me because I received each one of them.

Although we now have a new Pope, the following was provided to me by Paulette Provost before the Pope was chosen:

Did you hear about the Italian Cardinal

that is on the ballot

for possible replacement of the Pope?

Cardinal Cicolla is said to be

the top man for the job.

I do not know that much about him.

Do you?

I was told that

if he should get the position in Rome

he will be known as

Pope Cicolla!

George and I were sitting in the living room late Saturday afternoon, watching a little television, when the door bell rang.  There were two little girls who looked to be between the ages of 8 and 11 asking if we had any left over candy.  They said they were “re-trick or treating.  They were turned away – George ate all of the candy.   And what’s this re-trick or treating?

Saturday afternoon I traveled to Navarre for my friend’s garage sale.  It was really a fund raiser for her sister-in-law who has been diagnosed with cancer.  I ended up with many items.  A young girl, perhaps 8 or 9, was having a bake sale for the fund raiser.  I inquired about the price of her cupcakes.  She said, “50 cents.”  I asked her how many she had.  She said, “all those in the carrier.”  I asked her how many were in her carrier.  She said, “I don’t know.  You’re not going to buy all of them.”  I told her that I was thinking about buying all of them.  She said, “There are 12 cupcakes in each carrier, but you can’t buy the chocolate ones.  I want those.”  I bought George 12 carrot cake cupcakes because I couldn’t buy the chocolate ones. Hahahaha!

This week I noticed my niece selling her soaps on Facebook.  She wasn’t just advertising but selling, as well.  She has a Facebook store.  Once I looked into it, there is a new feature on Facebook where you can connect to your Etsy store and sell those items directly on Facebook.  You know I did this.  So, now if you want to purchase items, you have a choice of purchasing at Facebook or Etsy.

As I continue to practice my digitizing skills, this week I digitized a complete, A to Z, monogram alphabet.  It is pretty boxy, but it is my first attempt at digitizing monogram sets.  Nevertheless, it looks pretty cool.  George named it “Classy Cajun”.

Last Wednesday the girls gave me a birthday party.  The bling that came out of those packages was simply blinding but delightful.  I felt like a princess with all of the shiny presents.  It was a wonderful evening.

Friday we were scheduled to attend a neighbor’s retirement ceremony.  He retired from the Air Force.  I’ve never been to a military retirement ceremony and really looked forward to this event.  George and I got ourselves all pretty.  Another friend was picking us up.  We got to the entrance of NAS and the military lady that checked us in said, “Go straight down this road until you reach the T.  It is next to the Officers Club, I think.”  The “I think,” concerned us.  We went down the road until we came to a dead end with an intersecting road.  We didn’t see any signs for “Officer’s Club”, so we turned right.  We traveled for awhile and didn’t see any gathering of cars or people.  We turned around and drove that way until we reached an “Authorized Personnel Only” sign.  We passed a whole group of guys jogging in orange shirts.  We stopped a red truck containing another military fellow, but he didn’t know where the pavilion was located.  Then we went the other way, again.  By this time, the ceremony should have been nearly over. We never found the ceremony, so, we left.  After talking with our neighbor later, we apparently were right there and didn’t see it.  In fact, the young fellows jogging were right in front of the pavilion.

A lady contacted me via our blog page to inquire about the lap scarves that I made awhile back.  She wants me to make two of them.  This is the third time I’ve been contacted about making lap scarves.  I ought to make some and put them back on Etsy.

It is now evident that Mardi Gras is not too far away.  The first krewe order of the season arrived last week for a Bananimals logo on a white tux jacket.  Clothilde did a beautiful job on the jacket.

This week our Amaya technician and friend plans to visit.  We are going to take her out to eat.  Every times she visits, we just stay at the house drinking wine and playing with the embroidery machine.  Although there is nothing wrong with that agenda, this time we want to take her someplace.  I think we’ll dine on the beach if the weather permits.  Then she and I can play with the embroidery machine.  In the meantime, I do need to clean up that messy room, the studio, because that is where she sleeps when she visits.

Thanksgiving is coming.  Can you believe it is just a week and a half away?

Have a wonderful week.

HOMEMADE FURNITURE DUSTING SPRAY

2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon lemon essential oil
1/4 cup white vinegar
1-3/4 cups water
Spray bottle (16 oz size or larger)

Mix the ingredients in the order listed into your clean spray bottle. Shake well to mix. Spray onto wooden furniture and wipe off with a soft cloth to dust and clean the surface.

You may be wondering if the oil and water actually mix. The olive oil does want to rise to the top. I found it helpful to shake the spray bottle often while I was cleaning which was no big deal. A light olive oil might be even better in this recipe.

It’s Important to Label

Be sure to label any homemade cleaners that you make because otherwise they just look like some kind of watery mixture. Don’t rely on your memory. You need to make it clear to yourself and others what’s in the bottle. You can make your label with your computer printer, or with a label making machine, or just use a Sharpie marker. It’s also helpful to list the recipe right on the label and then you’ve made it super easy the next time you need to mix up a batch. I would also recommend you buy a new spray bottle rather than recycling one from a purchased cleaner so that you don’t have to worry about any residual chemicals getting into the mix.

Usually George dresses in costume to hand out candy to trick or treater’s.  This year he really didn’t feel like doing that until a neighbor asked if he was going to use the same costume as last year.  He got out his old black poncho and hat from last year and found a really scary foam mask at Wal-Mart.  He even scared me.  Then he sat outside by the bushes with his cauldron of candy.

It was still light outside and there were a couple of women strolling a baby around the park.  I had my witch’s hat on and was setting George up.  Apparently the ladies didn’t see George moving around and thought that he was something that I constructed and put in the yard.  About their third time around, the ladies and baby strolled over to tell me that they had been watching me set up for Halloween.  They thought the monster/creature was really cool and we all laughed – until George moved and scared the bejeebers out of the ladies and child.  We had fun that night.  There were more than the usual number of children but not a lot.  Our neighbors were handing out candy and it was nice mingling with them.  All in all, we were inside by 8 p.m.

Our usual tradition is afterwards we stoke up a fire in the chiminea and enjoy a glass of wine.  This year was no different.

The following day, of course, was my birthday.  By the end of the day, I had over 400 birthday wishes on Facebook.  I love my Facebook friends.  One friend later told me that she was late getting on FB to send me a Happy Birthday wish.  When she did, she got a message that my Facebook page was full and she couldn’t place the message.  I didn’t know they did that.

The day was pretty quiet and peaceful.  I had some embroidery work to do.  George gave me a great present.  I walked into my studio to find a new, adjustable, swivel, and rolling chair, with a back on it, placed at my embroidery machine.  Very nice.

I told George that I would like a steak dinner.  He cooked a wonderful meal and afterwards we relaxed, with wine, in front of the chiminea.  Obviously, the chiminea is one of my favorite places.

This may not seem like a very exciting birthday, but George understands that I don’t celebrate a birthDAY.  Oh no, my celebration entails a birthMONTH.  We have to pace ourselves.

Saturday we attended the memorial services for our friend who passed away recently.  It really was a lovely service.  Tears were flowing.  A good friend will be missed.  The memorial was at the Elks Lodge on the beach.  After the service everyone went to the food and bar.  We visited with many friends.  Many thanks go out to our wonderful SOB ladies who planned, prepared, hosted, and cleaned for this memorial to a wonderful man.

Hurricane Sandy killed 11 people in Cuba and proceeded along its path north until it collided into 2 additional storms and hit New York and the surrounding areas.  It was only a category one hurricane, but the combination with the other storms and hitting in the location that it did, was devastating.  Our thoughts and prayers have been with all of those people.  Sandy closed down New York City.  We watched the news and all of the photos on the internet.   Memories of Hurricane Ivan kept flooding our thoughts.

A friend of mine posted a question on Facebook today:  How long would you survive where you live if utilities and transportation STOPPED? No water, sewer, electricity or food coming to the stores?”  Interesting questions.  I don’t think we would have too hard a time.  In Florida you can always dig for water.  It is there.  The garden and knowing what plants are edible would suffice for food, not to mention fishing and seafood.  We even have the bamboo that we could use for fishing poles.  If there is nothing to buy at the store, there is little need for transportation other than walking or bicycling.  I even have my grandmother’s treadle sewing machine.  Aside from fire, there is solar cooking and heating.  Our big problem would be cooling and finding coffee.  The biggest problem, I think, would be crime.    People who do not know how to survive tend to loot.

This week I have spent hours surfing the web and scouring Pinterest for handmade Christmas gift ideas.  Good gosh, the internet has tutorials on everything.  If you don’t like to read a tutorial, there are plenty of tutorial videos available.  There is no need to ever throw away fabric or paper.  The internet is littered with uses for these.  Aluminum cans have a million recycled purposes, as well.   There are all kinds of craft projects using plastic of every kind.  If that’s not good enough, there are crafts projects for organizing all of these craft supplies.  It is just so amazing what the internet has done for everyone.

With that said, it is time to be thinking of Christmas presents.  What to make?  What to purchase?

·         Cookies, cakes, fudge, bread, etc., are always wonderful gifts.  Print out the recipe on pretty cardstock and tie with a nice bow.

·         Do a theme present such as kitchenware.  Buy or make a potholder mitt and fill it with wooden spoons, whisk, spatula, etc.  Tie a pretty bow around the middle.

·         A set of napkins with pretty napkin rings.  These are easily made and there are many tutorials online with a wealth of design ideas.

·         I recently saw a cute idea.  Place settings for the table included a burlap pocket with a flower on top.  The silverware was inserted into the burlap pocket and all was placed on top of the napkin.

·         Burlap, muslin and linen with their earth tones are very popular right now.

·         Cool looking spice dispensers.

·         Garden apron with packets of seeds in the pockets.

·         A basket for the garden with a handle, insert seeds or plants, gloves, potting soil, fertilizer, seedling pots, small hoes or rakes and garden utensils.  Even an outdoor thermometer or rain gauge.

·         Soaps, bath salts, scrub cloth, towel, lotions, etc.

Yesterday a lady contacted me for heirloom looking handkerchiefs for her Nana’s birthday.  Of course, they were made and initialed in the corner using a small diamond shaped monogram.  They looked very nice and the customer was please with the results and that we could get this done so fast.

Have a wonderful week.

Taken from Pinterest:  Homemade toothpaste! Here's a cheap and much better alternative to commercial toothpaste. Supplies: -5 Tbs baking soda -4 Tbs coconut oil -About 10 drops of essential oil. (I used peppermint) -Container (Make sure it has a lid. Baking soda will absorb smells if left to open air.) -*You can also add a bit of stevia or other natural sweetener if you're used to a sweeter toothpaste.
